Shed roof replacement

My dad has an 18 x 10 foot shed, the same construction/maker as mine:

The pitched roof is now leaking at 17 years old, it is made up of bitumen based tiles and some clear plastic ones, the tiles have cracked in places.

So what do folk recommend? ideally someting as good or better.

I’ve used Onduline sheets on my shed roof. It’s good stuff quite pricey but way better than the stuff buildbase sell

@Migmac I am pretty sure that is what they are, suppose they have lasted 16 years.

id fit netting to that roof before you take it off

then higher the roof woods enough for 4" thick insulation roll or the insulation board

board and felt it then fit the latts and then a metal roof easy to buy are those sheets as there in 2m lengths

Another roofing question.

keep it simple and build the frame up barge board it and fit everything on it then fill with insulation built the same way just not with large gaps

How best to re-roof this

this that hole must be filled otherwise blowback will affect it would you cover that with lead or flashband or foam and sealant? best way please.

I was looking at these as I've a garage that's got a completely *** roof, and will have to be sorted soon.. I did see some reviews tho that said it didn't last very well?

Got onduline on mine and it's been 15 years no issues and it's not the greatest off run offs

From inside out I have insulation, 11mm osb, breather membrane, battens and steel box profile roof with a 300mm overhang back and sides and 1000mm front so I get less water on the ouside walls and don't get water blowing in when I opon the door in the rain. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter, minimal water ingress.

I did mine pre appocolypse though, if the budget allowed I would do the same again, not sure what I would do with current material prices.

I too have Onduline on my new shed but also had it on my old one and I had that for about 25 years with no issues. I even dismantled and moved the whole shed from one end of the garden to the other with no ill-effects.

That said, I don't have a Renault Dauphine in mine!

Box profile or just OSB board and felt it, I personally wouldnt use onduline its only good for starting bonfires

Tbh, on my garage, I'd use wiggly tin if I could find some cheap or good cond. used..

Thanks for all the suggestions, my dad no longer works in his shed, it is mainly storage for my brothers gardening tools (and my Rapidor kit) so just watertight will do, the walls are not insulated.

In my own shed I lined it with vapour barrier, framed it then lined with kingspan then sterling board, no need to go that far.

I got box profile made to length from Coverworld. Stripped the crinkly bitumen stuff off (guaranteed for 20 years, lasted 21) and screwed the box profile down to the same ply sheets and it's watertight again.

Onduline tends to sag in hot summer then crack in extreme cold, wheres its sagged. Put a 1/2 osb roof on then new onduline, is one solution, when its supported it lasts far longer.

But for that Id go 50mm insulated box profile. Or fibre cement!

Mine has lasted well with no leaks, but has discoloured in UV light. Not sure I'd want to get up on it though.

Interesting...."Over here" the exposed fastener ("Ag Panels") have really taken off for re-roofing everything. They look look like your CR32 section, but I don't see an anti siphon groove on the short leg end/side (right side on your linked profile)
