Interesting...."Over here" the exposed fastener ("Ag Panels") have really taken off for re-roofing everything. They look look like your CR32 section, but I don't see an anti siphon groove on the short leg end/side (right side on your linked profile)

It uses an adhesive sealing strip along the top of the sections where they join to stop syphoning or capillary action.

I put on my first steel roof over the shop with that strip, the profile was much less sharp (easier to rollform) and I still had problems.
The new profile has that little "mismatch" anti-syphon profile, I've not had any problems on 3 roofs done with that, and no sealant needed.

Southern sheeting delivered sheets to my house and I cut them to size

removed old framework and fitted new

fitted new panels

all done

Took two days and cost £1200 all in.

Its just perfect, dosent sweat and keeps a bit of heat in and light and bright inside.

That's been a really helpful thread! The felt on my 8 year old shed is leaking (no surprise) so just ordered an Onduline kit - £148.50 delivered with my trade discount card

Dad decided on a low cost solution, old roof off, add some bracing to the frame, sterling board and then felt. I priced other options that were well over £1k, this was £300.

Too late now I'm sure, and I hate to be a Gaz, but would it not be better to have laid the felt lengthways from the bottom?

Ok, go on then, how would laying the felt lengthways have made it more expensive? Same area of roof, same amount of felt surely?

because i wouldnt have put one layer on that roof

being cheap dosnt mean a good roof

ive seen so many dormer roofs done so cheaply that they will fail in less than 5 years with the felt thats been put on them

But Gaz, you haven't answered my question, how does changing the orientation of the same amount of felt make it more expensive?

Can i butt in...what if the sheet is short going long ways? thats a lot of wasted material, secondly long ways is for the amateurs who then normally flood the area with clout nails. The guy doing the shed roof is no tradesman either or he would of put a drip edge in 1st and the cap sheet over the top, plus while i am on a roll,that felt he is using is not a full SBS and is very low end in the marketplace, That's it i have cleared my throat so carry on

That was our thinking: to get full runs length ways would have needed another length of felt or lots of joins using offcuts. The guy doing it is my step son: spent most of his working life on fish farms. My brother does have a stash of felt (Jewsons heavy duty) we could run another layer on top if that will last much better.

Got the onduline fitted, with a one week gap due to covid. Certainly seems more substantial than felt. I wonder about all the screw holes but the sheets seem quite bitumete-y, so I guess they self seal around the screws

I've had 2 onduline roofed sheds, albeit the regular corrugated stuff, nailed on rather than screwed, and never had a leak in the best part of 30 years (24 years for the first, and 6 for the latest).

You'll be fine, and it looks good too!

Ive used corrugated Onduline a few times, works a treat if supported by osb below. Nota fan of the nails, last time I-used roofing screws.

Yup - it was thin tongue-and-groove on the roof so I put 18mm OSB on top of that and screwed the tiles to it using the onduline screws
