They operated a couple of systems at Rover, the GO (general order) where you could buy new stuff at cost plus 5%, to give you an idea of prices, I took a chunk out of a tyre side wall and scuffed the alloy wheel rim, it would have cost me £30 to have a new tyre fitted. but I got a new alloy wheel and tyre on the GO system for £19.
The other one was the scrap system where a supervisor could sign off something that wasn't worth rectifying for scrap value, this was stopped when they caught someone signing off perfectly good engines as scrap.

Thats not a Tardis !!!!. Its a tea odour.
Can go thru water 20 feet deep, just have a look at the english tourists on the beach waving to the guy on the roof.
Very good in floods. Its always the car thats doing 50 MPH when everybody else is doing 10 MPH.
Its also a VERY good two wheel drive, one front wheel and one back wheel. The sunroof will let in more rain than is actually falling,
and it sounds like a grey Fergy with 25,000 hours on it without an oil change.
The salesman definately saw you coming !!.

Surf: A grey import in Australia, doesnt comply with pollution laws, or safety laws.
Its a "bit " like a Hilux, but its the low version, so more a lowlux tea odour.
PLENTY available here, ALL from the skip, ( or car wrecker ) almost impossible to work on,
PLUS they never worked out if the chassis was return for the power, or you switched earth to a "live " wire.
Came with a variety of fuel guzzlers, most are 2.7 litre but you MIGHT find a 3 litre, which is a two point seven litre, with a 3 litre head bolted on,
Early ones are 2.2 litre and capable of about 75 kliks/hr, OFF a cliff.
NOT a good car.

The 1kzte 3.0 diesel lump is one of the best engines every made, not fast but reliable as they come.
A LSD in the back axle and locking centre diff sorts out most off roading, it's not a **Language**in rock climber after all!

Landcruiser 90 chassis and DIFFS and CONSTANT 4 wheel drive is KNOWN to burn the axle splines offa the axles. ( plus cook the centre diff )
NOT greatly different to MK I landy, which is the vehicle I learned to drive in. ( Or break a lay shaft ) 1950 model )
Anyway, as long as you like it, is all that matters. I dont want one, FOR FREE.
Au is a LIL tiny bit larger than UK, and, as I mentioned, Surf was never brought in by tea odour. ITS NOT an Australian version.
NO parts!!. ( not officially anyway ). No parts manuals. Toyota WONT help you with a surf, its NOT an australian import.
Its a bodgy!!. Wiring is totally a hodge podge of cobbled together stuff. ( I have been asked as an engineer to sort it out ).
90 series is also NOT a favorite over here. (9" rear diff, 7" front diff. ) Well, the full manual version will fetch a few bucks, but the fulltime four wheel drive, is hopeless.
BUT then for shopping in the high street 3.123554 kilometers from your estate, it will work for a while.
Forgot exactly, but its a 3Y or 5Y engine pattern isnt it ?.
England would fit into Western Australia about 20 times
England would fit into Queensland about 14 times
England would fit into Northern Territory about 11 times
England would fit into South Australia about 7 times
England would fit into New South Wales about 6 times
England would fit into Victoria about 2 times
England is about twice the size of Tasmania
England is about 55 times the size of the Australian Capital Territory
I guess the point is, YOU never go anywhere!!. Its not uncommon for wifey, myself n Lily, the dog, to go 3000 kliks to visit our kids. Takes 3 days. Same state, QLD.

which is what OWE dee is.

They just uncouple the rotary hoe offa the front.
