It was complete and had good compression.
Only problem was I was with my wife in her poxy little car with two friends and no tools.
My mate found a pair of old shears and ingeniously managed to get the two handle bolts undone to make it a bit smaller. We summoned the wifes from the carpark to collect it and the look on my wifes face said it all
"It's not going in my car"
Drat! I said or words similar...
I had a quick measure up and it was to big anyway
There was also another rotavator and an Echo leaf blower in there along with Stihl chainsaw helmets and other gardening tools!!!
I'm absolutely gutted and feel ashamed to admit this complete failing to uphold the forum tradition of skip diving!

Even though they had a salvage yard where the public could buy unwanted items. When we were doing renovation work at a Lockheed Aircraft facility back in the 1970's, you would always find some treasures thrown out in the dumpsters (skips). I remember one building they were vacating, throwing out desks, ladders, office equipment & supplies along with fifty pound pigs of lead amongst other things. There was a security officer standing by, and because of the rules, you couldn't take anything "until it was in the dumpster"; then the guard would give you authorization to remove said items off site. I remember a few people laughing at my crew and I as we were pulling stuff out of the roll off container, especially as we were trying to get the heavy bars of lead out. I got over 400 pounds of it for myself, and my Mother didn't see my Dad for a week, as he was casting fishing weights & hooked lures.

We used to have the scrap note in the yard, get a manager to sign it off and take it to scrap management where you paid a nominal fee and got a chitty for security. I’ve been at a few places that had or historically had these schemes.
