i did the exact thing in a highlift jack handle ,,, i was wearing welding gloves and blue gloves ,,, and was genuinely wary about taking the leather glove off as I knew it felt bad ,,, I thought I would take the gloves off and pour my thumb out ,,,, but in the end only broken in three places and crushed ,,,, i have the pics from the day after ,,, but Ill do everyone a favor and not post them .....I have always been a hot wire person. The few times I’ve done it.
I am a quick learner
Was at a friends farm the other day and he’d got his thumb tip stuck in some machine or other. He was going to drill it but didn’t because his wife sent him to A&E. Unusually for him he gave in and went.
Turns out he had mushed the triangular bone in the end and it was the pressure that was holding it all together. Nurse reckoned if he’d drilled it it would have been a load of mush once the pressure went.
No idea if she was right or not but made me think twice if I ever need to do the hot wire again!!
three years on and its grand again , even the nails back ,,, the old bodys a marvelous thing.
