Yesterday when I saw the nurse to check on my dressings etc, she went off to get a doctor as she wasn't happy with what she saw.
The doctor came in and had a look, she looked me in the eye and said "if you feel unwell, call 999. I think you are on the verge of septicaemia" with that she wished me luck, placed her hand on my shoulder and gave it a squeeze!
That worried me more than anything else!

I will never take statins, they are a sticking plaster

As aforementioned I refused to take them years ago. Pretty sure it was the best thing I ever did. I've proved I can drop the weight on my own and feel so so much better.

Sticking to it is the hard bit but it's not impossible for most people.

Quite sad really when those of us who "can" don't and just eat and drink crap, don't excercise and end up another statistic weighing down the NHS.

Salad shortage, what BS, get out and dig a veg patch like our grandparents did before Zen gardens and composite decking took over!

I did enquire about using an online pharmacy - Lloyds - but I was told I would be off dispensary permanently.
Not worth it as most medication is available on the day - if new prescription - and 5 days for repeats.
Next month if it's back in stock, not a problem, not a problem if I have to phone around, but as I cannot drive till mid April I'm relying on SWMBO as a taxi driver.

My surgery used to do my repeat meds, but wouldn't bubble pack. So each month into the boxes..groan. Nearly always issues with online requests not being processed. But the local pharmacy does bubble pack. My repeats are all handled by them in bubble packs and..........they deliver them. I don't have to get involved at all. It happens seamlessly and they are absolute pleasure to deal with, nothing's too much trouble. Surgery by comparison everything is too much trouble. Surgeries are guaranteed an income no matter how poor the service is? Captive audience?

Being very rural our practice is pretty good, and even easier to get appointments since they went over to this on line screening thing, seems to filter out many of the time wasters.

Personally, I have been made aware of hidden sugar in processed foods and avoiding most of it over a couple of years have lost 2 1/2 Stone down to 13 1/2 with 120 over 80 blood pressure. Now at 70 however cholesterol is high so that's the next challenge but care not to take statins.

It's scary the misinformation, disinformation and basic deception we are given by this higher up the chain of command. I have visions of rooms full of the elite, laughing at the games they are playing with we mere mortals.

The American medical insurance system has got to be the biggest scam on the planet.

Guy I worked with had a root canal done, one tooth, medical insurance covered it, but he got sent a copy of the bill by mistake. $11,000 for a root canal. Everybody involved is making stupid big money out of it, all paid for by the common man's enormous premiums. $1000+ a month for full family cover, my yank workmates were paying, while I paid $100 as it was subsidised by my company.

There is big money by keeping/making people sick.

2lb per week isn't much. I eat more than that each week. Probably not much shy of 1lb per shift, when I'm working. About 450g in a lb, isn't it?

Because it's dirt cheap no profit. I get it in an Adcal suppliment because of calcium loss due to steroids during polymyalgia. It also apparently reduces the problems of SAD in winter months..(tho' can't say I'm full of giggles)
Non-white people need it in our less sunny climes even more.

I am on that because I regularly have steroids via IV infusions. D3 and calcium carbonate. I don't know what else it does, I have not really enquired

A friend who works at Porton Down told me this a couple of years ago. The dose is of the order of 3-4 grammes, so quite significant. Something like 1 in 300 people will suffer an allergic reaction and, in some, it can cause hypercalcaemia.

Vitamin K3 will move the calcium from blood back into your bones, apparently .

I'm not sure that it's that easy. The MoD shied away from large Vitamin D doses because of the possible side effects (and litigation, I suppose).
