I've had to replace all the blade guide bearings and sort out the safety switches & replace all the wirings on mine to get it to work as it should , it had been seriously neglected and abused by various PO's .Thanks for the advice. It needs a good clean and get all the metal filings and grime off it and off the bearings etc - so I'll give it a good look over.
The bearings on the blade guides are covered in filings, and gack inside the blade casing - so it needs a good going over.
I'd read that they things were damned heavy and unwieldy and need 2 men to lift - but actually it wasn't that bad and I was able to lift it and unload it solo without any drama.
Then sod's law arrived and killed the on off switch leaving it filled with water after a vicious storm removed some of it's coverings ( it has to stand outside under 1 mm thick plastic DPM .)
Purchased three switches from China , hope to fit one in a few days time , new home for the saw is a cut to height dead industrial chest freezer that now swallows almost all of the machine , new water resistant end doors about to be made this week with any luck .
