British Gas 3 phase supply has gone up to £1.23 per kWh ?

Yes 150 amps - not a typo !It feeds my private hobby workshop, and is definitely not commercial though very extensive with big machines.

It all depends on the size of the supply and your supply agreement.

For a simple 70KVA (100A three phase) supply it will almost certainly be a whole current meter with billing being the same as for a domestic single phase supply.

For a larger supply there's more likely to be more complex agreements and billing, including an agreed supply capacity and limits on reactive power/power factor with associated penalties.

This was just a roadside cafe from a big chain.
Not sure if it was Little chef or Happy eater as worked both around that time.

I need to look into this as i think we are being overbilled. I have similar but the previous owner ran a business from here and i am wondering if we are on a commercial rate. When i looked we were on 5% vat though so assumed it was domestic.

Sorry to be a bit stupid on it , do you mean 100A per phase ? I think the main cutout thing is 60 or 80 amp cartridge fuses. edit (per phase)

I got it to run my 100 kW induction furnace but that got mothballed for about 10 years whilst I rebuilt the house and developed the farm. When I pulled it out to recomission I wasn't happy to just throw it on the mains as if faulty it would cause a major outage locally, so I refurbished a 110 kW generator and run it off that, and still do. When going full blast it draws the whole 150 amps per phase !

I was very fortunate that UKPowerNetworks came knocking on my door for acess wayleaves to re-cable part of their network which I exchanged for them running the big supply into my workshop - nice to have levers to pull

I’ve got 100 amp three phase at home with 12kw solar feed into it
I was lucky as it only cost £450 in ‘98 to have put on as a rich Arab neighbour had a full size swimming pool installed and had a substation put in . Until then the area was a 60a per house single phase supply off a transformer running off 11kv two phase

Yes that would be 100A per phase.

If they are 80A fuses then that would be described an 80A three phase supply.

The furnace ‘body’ has a crucible permanently grouted in, and tips to pour pneumatically, and holds a maximum of 30kg brass. Bit of a pain really as you need to tip into a ladle of some sort for accurate transfer to the mould.
I have another ’body’ where the entire thing inverts, the mould being clamped to the top. Advantage is no chance of spills and splashes, but you can’t see the melt progressing nor can you skim dross off.
