It is basically enclosed so no sawdust gets in there. The reason it seizes is the coolant can seep in there.Trouble with lube,it can often just encourage more s**t to stick.

If anything it probably separates and the water evaporates and leaves a gungy sticky mess which dries up and causes the issues.Can you riches the mix,or do you think it separates leaving just the water?
Never had an issue with it not cutting straight but the first thing I would check is that the bow is true. If you raise it and set a square in the vice against the blade then lower it down and make sure it is true. If it is not then probably the bearing needs tightened or is knackered.interesting i also thought oil a better option but it definitely had grease originally. I've stuck some Shell grease in it, time will tell.
If you've got any tips on getting the thing cutting straight i'd be glad to hear them.
