I see Huddersfield is on the sites of interest. I'll keep a look out! The only thing stopping me using them more is the closest one is in Barnsley. It's probably only a few miles further than Halfords is to me but it's in another town, I'm sure it's psychological. That's why there's so many Screwfix and Howdens branches etc...

Everytime I go to a screw fix they never have what I want in stock. Last time I went was for a 32a power switch for a shower. One of those need it now moments. Dozen in the catalogue zero in the shop. I tended to use them less and less over the years and save my time. go straight to wickes or somewhere that has things in stock. I try and not use b&q as they're beyond extortionate.

Screwfix have gone all B&Q these days which is why I prefer to use Toolstation (Yes, I know, Screwfix now owned by Kingfisher who also own B&Q and Toolstation set up by the same chap that set up, and subsequently sold to Kingfisher, Screwfix).

Need it there and then. It's near wickes and b&q, it's not the journey as much as the faffing about.

My nearest SF tells me that there's plenty of stock in store, then when I've paid, it'll be 24hrs and to wait for the text. This invariably happens on a Friday, so nothing until midday Monday - Then I have to go elsewhere, the go into SF and cancel in person

Morning all. After 15 months of kicking my heals after taking redundancy from my FLT job of 36 years. I start work at Machine Mart today. I have been having problems with my mental health just recently and have put a lot of weight on. I didn't sleep well last night and I'm as nervous as hell as it's a complete career change for me. My commute is twice as long as my last job. Little steps I think.

I had a massive career change after my business failed, i started that business at uni and it was the only life i knew. I was incredibly nervous starting a new job and it had huge physical effects on me. I soon settled in and found myself enjoying the new job more than what I had before.

Not a good day today, I knew this would happen but I didn't know it would happen so soon. My back has been playing up really badly today, as in, it twinges when I cough or move. I can't get into my osteopath until next Wednesday. I measured myself tonight and I am and inch shorter than I was when I left work in September '21

Hot bath, a long walk, it's cramping up. Warmth and gentle exercise, to loosen the muscles, and ward off the stress.

Some slow stretches in the morning and at lunch time. And buy a Volvo with orthopedic heated seats for the commute.

Sorry to hear that. I’d recommend a foam roller and get yourself on that each night. And maybe a back brace - I’ve got an elastic one that squeezes you tight and really helps when mine is playing up. I wonder if being on your feet all day is triggering it ?

Good point, what shoes are you wearing? I prefer DM boots, but whatever survives a day on your feet.

Update. Went to the osteopath today, He manipulated my back, He says it's mostly muscle spasms so he eased them out. Calves are hurting a lot. It was delivery day yesterday and I was darting about the shop a lot. Osteo has ordered me some better insoles, I took my boots in with me to show him. I have another appointment tomorrow. Then I'm back in for 8 days straight. There is only me and an assistant manager at our store. We should have a Manager and a part timer as well. Price crash for metalworking tools finished yesterday! I forgot to tell the forum, sorry. I'm in at the weekend, so if you are in the area, pop in and see me! (and buy something so I can get my sales up!!)

Deep heat. Get them from chemists. Like an underarm roller type thing. It's just a patch up job to get you through the days at work. But it works more or less instantly. Burns a bit. Bit of a dear do aswell but worth every penny.

Lay down on a cold concrete floor and lift your legs up (like a football bicycle kick)
As an excersize

Do it for a good quarter to half hour every day.
