I got a pair of those small grips just before Xmas, we have an installation on oil rig that has loads of old coax connectors, so I can see it getting plenty of use there

In Scotland we salt our roads in winter which makes things worse. I noticed they were rusty after just 1 day despite washing the salt of the bike. I will not be using it much until the weather improves, my 1955 Matchless does not have many nice shiney bits to get damaged, so I will be using it for short trips for now. Will report back on the success or otherwise.I always thought that was a fact of life
- with my Guzzis, all I have to do is drive through fog - well, more proverbially - and they're rusty again.
When they had been braked clean again, then, with the next bit of rain, at first you could see every single drop on the discs becoming rusty, until they were completely wet and therefore completely rusty ...
... to quote the British author of the great, funny book "French Revolutions", after he had been given a GDR racing bike as a child:
"Until then I hadn't understood rust as a process that you could actually watch."
Well, if they were rusty, then they also got clean again when braking - I never saw the need to do anything about it .... however, I also didn't have a bike as new as yours ... yet. or any such new vehicle, for that matter ....
I'm curious to hear what you report, I can hardly imagine how that would work ... Good success!

At least they worked when asked to. I once had a 500 Yamaha twin thing with stainless disks which required at least 200 yards of application before even thinking of any braking effect in the rain.My discs don't really rust, sometimes get a bit under the pads but that is about it. I do remember on my VF400 they rusted like hell but you just didn't see it as they were enclosed. It basically used cast ventilated discs and they were a real PITA
Give it a wash you mucky sod or I'll have to reject the warranty when it does corrode.
It has now been washed but it may be in that state for a week or two if the weather is not kind
It gets used so yes it gets dirty, it is not a garage queen even though it may be an African oneyou mean you left your pride and joy sitting dirty for a week
