Are there any types of converter to avoid, or a type specifically suited to a lift?Just use a phase convertor
ThanksGenerally single phase ramps use a lower power motor with a lower displacement pump than their three phase equivalent to allow for the fact single phase motors don't like starting under load.
You do get single phase motors that will start better under load, but the startup currents involved are quite high.
If you want to use a phase converter with a ramp, you'll probably need one at least 3x the rated motor power to handle the start up current requirements, possibly more.
My son has wanted one of these for years And has decided to bite the bullet as he has been looking at second hand ramps and they seem to go for silly money. Almost as much as a new one with warranty and single phase without messing.
I looked at those too, but the low height was against it for my needs.
But you do have the headroom.I would not buy a mid rise lift - all ramps we got are full height.
But you do have the headroom.
I don't have the headroom inside, but I now have a four poster outside.
Seems fine. It is a free standing type, just as well because nobody is interested in doing the ground works for me.How is the outside ramp working for you?
I thought about this myself in the past.

Which ones were these?Too much junk around you tried 2 hated them sold on in less than 12 months would be a last resort
