Hope it can got a job to do tomorrow 50 miles away and can’t get another ps5 anywhere same day I’ve only just got it back from the garage and two minutes down the road it was flat but there was nothing in the hole and didn’t hear it come out

It looks like most of the damage is the tread, the inside probably isn't as badly damaged and will likely repair without issues. The tyre should be removed, the repair sticks fitted from the outside are temporary repairs, like running on a space saver. I've seen objects pushed almost all the way through a tyre and not visible from the outside and there is always a small chance there is more damage than can be seen, unlikely though.

they use one of these to repair them as ive done them often
i learnt tyre repair when i was younger and ive seen stuff that i would never touch again thats why i will only buy remoulds and never a used tyre

Thats likely repairable if the inside looks ok. poke something in the hole and note the angle, if its not a good angle it will want a 2 peice repair.
Use the smallest repair that suits, 3 and 6mm are most common but 10mm and bigger exist.
While it requires some care to do well its not a complex process and its much easier for me to DIY than trust some random tyre monkey to do it.
Tyre snot strings often work in an emergency but they do loose their stick and should never be considered permenent! They can be very easy to pop out after a few weeks.

I have used them loads of times and I have never seen one pop out even after thousands of miles
Same here, though only for small holes made by something like a no. 8 woodscrew, and they've lasted till end of life for the tyre. Sikaflex, "pumped in" using a nail punch, also works well, but needs a couple of days to cure with the tyre deflated.
Your tyre guy must love you when you buy a second hand motor . .. straight round for four new remoulds after chucking the tyres on it . . .
Do you swap the spare for a remould too at the same time?

I've used a good number. 140mph once with three of them fitted in the rear and also worn several bike tyres down to the cords.
However when Ive removed a string repaired tyre I checked and some were loose, only held in by the air pressure. The stickyness of them only lasts about a week.
Go over a large stone in just the right place to deform the tyre and it will be inside and the air outside..
Much more likely to fail if you let air pressure drop, any slow leak is asking for problems.
I had a few that have failed, one in torrential rain and hated the experience.
Takes me about an hour to strip a bike tyre, do a proper repair and get the wheel refitted so, its just better to do it, than to have one fail and ruin a whole day.

theres no gurantee that that tyre is safe and im not putting my life or my childrens life into trusting those tyres
fine if there going on the banger car
as goes for your comment i change 2 at a time and also change the spare or buy a spare wheel or tyre but i dont drive far with them and i font drive fast with them either

What difference does it make what car it’s going on? 2 tons of metal is 2 tons of metal.
So if you bought a car that had 4 decent tyres on it you’d change them regardless because you didn’t know their history?

Remould = old casing of potential dubious quality with some new rubber stuck on top.
We run remoulds on the trucks/trailers, they are noticeably heavier than a virgin tyre, they perish much faster than a virgin tyre, the sidewalls like to split at the bead, they also wear fast.
I have seen so many truck remoulds fail over the last 30 years it is unreal.
Recent legislation states that all hgv steer tyres must be under 10 years old, drives over 10 yrs are just an advisory, they can tell the age of original tyres by the date code, but remoulds dont seem to have a visible date code, and if they do the date is from the remould date and not the original tyre manufacture date!

I replaced a 1000 mile old bike tyre last March, a puncture near the sidewall, cost £110
Blow me, 2 months later I get a slow puncture in the new tyre.
I stuck a sticky worm in that one, blowed if I'm buying yet another tyre until it's worn out. It was a small hole, I could barely get the thinnest worm in.
