Yep, happily do so, and have done for the last 35 yrs - never had a tyre let go in all that time, mega commutes to Germany at one point too . . . as do the rest of the population. Even the tyres of your brand new car direct from the dealership have some miles on them - having seen what happens to shiny new cars coming off the line in various plants . . .if you want to be a idiot trusting somebody elses tyres thats your problem not mine
theres no gurantee that that tyre is safe and im not putting my life or my childrens life into trusting those tyres
fine if there going on the banger car
as goes for your comment i change 2 at a time and also change the spare or buy a spare wheel or tyre but i dont drive far with them and i font drive fast with them either
You'd have thought all the Audi's weaving about on the phone would hoover up all the nails...One of the hazards of constant fitering in London rush-hour traffic - you're riding on dirty tarmac most of the time
Tyre snot strings often work in an emergency but they do loose their stick and should never be considered permenent! They can be very easy to pop out after a few weeks.
I have to admit, I didn't even realise they still sell remould car tyres, thought they had been banned years ago. For £50 or so I just fit a mid range new tyre on my Mondeo, if one required. Good for 15,000 miles or so.Your tyre guy must love you when you buy a second hand motor . .. straight round for four new remoulds after chucking the tyres on it . . .
Do you swap the spare for a remould too at the same time?

When I stopped using the dirty triangles at the traffic islands, my rate of punctures dropped dramatically.Have to admit I have used many, perhaps a dozen or more over the last 5 years, and never had one come out either.

For roughtly an hour of your time (less with a car) you could have a proper repair and more trust in the things..?I have glue in my worm repair kit, so I put a good smear of that on before thrusting my worm tool in the hole. I check the pressure once a week and eyeball the repair, no signs of anything untoward.
Brave.....or stupidI've used a good number. 140mph once with three of them fitted in the rear and also worn several bike tyres down to the cords.
they use one of these to repair them as ive done them often
Pardon our interruption...

i learnt tyre repair when i was younger and ive seen stuff that i would never touch again thats why i will only buy remoulds and never a used tyre

Modern tyres are great for picking up punctures I must average one every two weeks in my van. Every time it's a small stone pushed through. I've got three spare wheels now and I just swop them at the tyre place. I've tried premium mid range and budget tyres with no difference. In fact in 130,000 miles in this van I've never worn out a tyre.
