I don't believe the 2000lbs rating for a minute, of course. However, given the cheaper ones look quite spindly, I thought it was worth spending just a bit more.
Only finished off the order when I noticed they also stock load levellers, which will be handy enough.
I'll get one of those next week or after.

Sometimes you have to spend mony and help a friend.
A "Nearly Norbert" brought this from E bay.
It was 99.9999% complete.
Just one small, but imporatnt bit was missing.
The one small part prevented this engine from working.
It was the O ring on the safety valve.

like a race trailer, only smaller, built for a caterham etc. handy for my sidecar bikes and Matchless light car, although I will need to lenghten the body a bit for the car.

It is paraffin, but the label has gone AWOL.

The shaft is modified from a standard shaft.
After cleaning there is a Goverment stamp on the head.
The nearest I can find it is a hammer for working on small arms.

Yeah, I think for something that size I'd build a proper HD one.
Think I would simply for the cost of the engine hanging on it, never mind size.
My ebay special stand seemed okay hanging onto a 5.7l Dodge hemi V8 though.
Although the Chinese engine hoist that uses a very similar "chassis" to your stand made me rather nervous with the engine a long way up in the air to get it over the nose of the car, which was on ramps for underside access . . . up a sloping rough tarmac drive . . .
