I can recommend the Essex Ham online course, it helped but you do have to do your own study as there are a few gaps in the training.

Today, I acquired a hellishly noisy washing machine bearing, after the floods.
It was grumbling a very slight amount for the past year and I'd put it off as it didn't get any worse. Well, it has now.
Luckily it's a 20 year old Bosch, and parts are available.
It's not supposed to be fixable, but just at the start of the properly naff designs, so it's actually do-able with the right kit.

I had a wee wander around the Aldi website last week, and decided to buy some cordless power tools. After a lot of humming and hawing, I went for the grinder, a cordless air compressor, and an air pump, plus 2 x 20v batteries and the 20/40v charger.
I went for the 20v, as it should suit my needs better, and I didn’t want to have too many different batteries hanging about.
Now, I just need the time to play with them.
Is this a start of yet another new “collection”?
