Made in Newcastle China more like, I contacted them about viewing/ buying/ collecting a log splitter. They were less than helpful.

I have a little Bosch 12v impact driver and it will drive the biggest longest screws I use into wood with just enough pressure to keep it engaged in the head. It is very controllable and surprisingly powerful.

Doing the same job with a regular drill driver (in my case also a little Bosch 12v unit) and you have to push really hard to keep the screw engaged and resisting the torque is much more difficult as it tries to wrench the tool from your hands.

They are night and day different for driving screws or even light drilling duties into masonry.

That's what I have, it's surprisingly powerful and will drive a 5" screw into old house timbers easily.

Will out dig most 5t excavators yet fit into tighter spaces with the back actor and will out lift a large number of tractor based loaders in both capacity and height.

Being 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer it's surprising where she'll go.

If you can find a 2 cx, they are just more versatile than a 3, not that common with the back hoe though.

Those bosch 12v tools are class, lightweight and powerful enough for what they are, have tacked many diy jobs. Even the 12v drill can tackle masonry if you have the patience

also proper recommend the bosch dremel as a tool i wish i bought earlier

next on the list for me is a powerfile/finger sander. Any recommendations?

Earlier this year I was up a tree, (well overall, several trees) not having the room to drop them and hoping to bring them down in 2ft sections, forgetting that a man of 72 can no longer do what a man of 35 once did and got a nasty case of tendonitis for my folly. I did bring all four trees down but the pain...
As a result of the injury I was not looking forward to the next job of demolishing our 60 year old decrepit brick built garage with a sledge, hammer and chisel.
One evening browsing FB Marketplace, I came across a woman clearing her late dad's shed and selling a 110v Makita 0810 Demolition Hammer for £10. She didn't have a transformer but was honest enough to suggest I bring my own if I was interested in buying.
A purchase followed by a quick check and re-grease and I was in business.
What a great piece of kit, it was breaking concrete up to a foot thick, in total about 9 cu yards of brick and concrete reduced to hardcore.

I considered an equivalent of a 3CX but whilst it would have been handy in initial groundworks it was going to be a large machine to park up. The 2CX is a hell of a machine for its size 2t lift on the front (at least) with 12-15ft depth on the rear. She's not actually that big considering the capabilities and very compact and maneuverable.

If not already suggested could I add a good old simple chain hoist. Why the hell have I been struggling with lumps of heavy stuff ? Also add a sack barrow.

A couple of years back my wife (& i) wanted some new fitted bookcases in our lounge to hold our large book collection. Got a couple of prices north of 7k.
And so i drew up what was required & bought a pile of cherry faced mdf & some solid cherry for the edges. Plus a Festool T55 tracksaw & a makita biscuit cutter. Neither was cheap but it was an absolute revelation using them. It meant the whole job was done months earlier & cost less than half.
I still have the tracksaw & biscuit cutter & they are more than paid for.

Impact & normal drill or driver all have their place. I rarely use my impacts, but if, for example, I was driving a long screw, else a fixing into masonry, then impact I'd likely use.

For most things though, I use a standard driver.

For the past 30+ years I've always either used the 2 man method or a 1 way valve to bleed brakes. The fluid on the van needed replacing & after reading the reviews on here I bought one of the Sealey pressure bleed kits.

This made the whole process very efficient & while I was waiting for the fluid to flush through I could do other things. The only problem I had was fluid coming past the threads of the front bleed nipples, cured with a bit of plumbers tape.

Good for weld prep in awkward spaces/shapes.
You mean the sort of mini finger size belt grinder type or the original bench mounted oscillating file type??

Excellent for taking the excess off plug welds as well in tight spaces.
