Thanks - this is the key thing! We absolutely do not hang on to stuff that isn't going to be useful or valuable. Also a bit of a unique situation on this farm where brother and I share the shop, but I tend to use it more. It's show enormous self restraint, not to have filled it with crap.
Both in equal measureAgree, although I'm not sure which I'm most envious of - tidy or large![]()
Normally they get them filled long before they reach that state. They do get a lot of abuse though, miles of rope hauled every day and the ropes are wet and covered in grit/mud so quite abrasive. That's a lot of wear is it normal ?

And that will be relatively clean/dry rope, after it has been on the seabed for a day or three it is full of sand it will be a thousand times worse.Rope is scarily abrasive, I've seen carabiners nearly cut through from a running rope.
I get paid for filling themRobin have you tried 307?
HahahI get paid for filling them![]()
But I would get bored if I didn't have them to doI mean I could recommend a specific stainless hardfacing alloy, and you could tell them it will last x amount of time but costs 4 times as much.
Nothing special.
Just a rig to get the bins to the street.
