I altered the replacement lamps so they had at least an additional metre of cable than would normally be added to allow me to bring the cables through the outside wall in an angled up plastic tube and into my mancupboard to a switched socket & fit a 13 amp three pin plug on the cable with a few feet of cable to spare inside for future change outs .

That way when another fails it's a quick job to unplug it , cut off the cable at the light end , undo the two mounting screws and put up another cable extended light then feed the wire up the plastic tube leaving a six inch drip loop outside , so I can put the plug on inside a dry garage whilst stood safely on the floor . Much better than standing on a ladder fiddling about in the wind & rain .

My freedom I was released late last night. I still can't walk properly and covid has taken its toll but I am glad to be home. I have a big bag of medication and a plan. That will do me.

Grass cutting is a chore I have to do but Im trying to improve my customer service so rather than miss all the calls I can now choose who to ignore!!

I have two Wadkin PK pattern makers saws that I am (very) slowly restoring. The sliding table is fixed in position by this cam action handle that pulls a rod up and down. The rod is sprung in the up position.

Unfortunately lost on the other PK, you can see it where the rod has snapped off where the fulcrum pin goes through and is a bit bent.

I was going to fabricate another handle seeing I had one to use as a pattern, but one came up at a reasonable price on the bay.

Next, a propane cylinder filling kit. I'm going to fill my smaller 3.9kg cylinders I use for camping and the small plumbing blowtorch from the 16kg cylinder I use for the weed killing with a big roofing torch. I can't get refills for the small bottles from any local supplier.

Volvo reckon their gearbox oil is good for the life of the car...always plenty of Volvos on sale with busted gearboxes!

The volvo didn't have a changeable filter...I bought a magna fine in-line filter...only works if you have an oil cooler of course.

Also stuck one on the power steering and I have to say the oil has stayed very clean (it's green so it's easy to tell)

I worked at a VW main agents back in the 70s , have often seen the results of people trying to undo factory fitted nuts , as said I always split the nuts

This set of brass PO weights have come from Israil.
But stamped as GPO 1950. Odd as they are in Grams.

2 are not the same. But have the same serial numbers.

We had one of those brown tapes at home when I was little. It just apperared, so I guess we borrowed it. In an early lesson, it never left .

I did something to it, and it wouldn't retract or wind up., whichever. Sorry parents.

If it's anything like my mum's, I think when you unwind it, you'll find its really 34-1/2 ft (or 31-1/2 - I can't remember now if its shrunk or stretched )
