Really? Why?

The drawer runners are really rusty towards the bottom, and while I'm sorting that out I just want to make it look nicer if it's going home. I'm not going to the trouble of blasting and powder coating, honest. Runners are no-bearing ones, so even when they're not rusty they aren't very good. And the latch at the back was out of shape, so the drawers didn't close properly.

I don't know your rules in this respect, but I can imagine stricter regulations in our country generally , see TÜV.

If they're black and round-ish they'll do here!

Next door neighbour came round the other day to say they were getting a new BBQ as old one was going rusty/on last legs.
He knew I made stuff and thought there might be some bits off it I could make use of.
Popped to have a look at the weekend.

Quick power wash with warm water & detergent let it dry , couple of rattle cans of paint and sell it on Facebook market or at a big boot sale this weekend with everything else you want to get rid of. Then buy proper metal & make a decent table with the profits A decent new one is £ 230 to £250 plus range

Interesting day today. My dad passed away end of May, and me and my sister (I’m the baby of the family) have been cleaning out his house, so I have been visiting the local charity shop a couple of time a week, to drop bags of stuff off.

Usual routine, park at back, run around to shop front, shout “got more stuff for you”, and they unlock back gate. This time, she couldn’t remember the code for the lock, so second volunteer nips out to help, leaving back door open.

Customer opens shop door, and draught slams back door shut, locking out both woman, as neither can get the gate padlock to open. I hear their desperate shouting, and free them from their ‘cage’ out the back.

Anyway, on my rush to the back door to release them, my eye fell on a tap and die set in a wooden box. I grabbed it in passing, and stuck it behind the counter. It hadn’t been priced, so they told me to make an offer, which I did, £10. The box has a little bit of a bow to it, but everything seems to be complete. I have no idea of the cost of something like this, but was happy to give them the £10, they are a good wee shop.

I don’t even know if I actually need the set, but when has that ever stopped anyone on this forum.

That looks to be a BSW set and in nice condition too . First , second and bottoming taps if I'm not mistaken .

Another thing from the car boot sale yesterday, I didn't notice it on a stall where everything was £1, didn't see it until he changed it to "everything free". It's rusty, been on fire and needs some bits straightening out.

I bought pretty much exactly the same phone holder from Food Warehouse a few weeks ago for £1.99. I thought I'd give it a go in one of the classics and if it was any good, get a couple more so I don't have to move them from one car to another. Of course, they don't stock them any more, only the one with built-in wireless charging (which my phone doesn't do) for £14.99.

Now don't get me wrong Spencer, we all love machinery, especially lathes etc, but how many do you own ? Are they still all under tarps with the reste of your encylopedic machinery collection, not knocking you, just curious.
