I am really grateful to all those who have replied and shown compasion and interest.Don't forget that the most important person in your 'group' is the CARER. Look after yourself first otherwise you can't look after the others. Easy to say difficult to do. As one who worked in that sector for 10 years before retirement I've seen it . The light at the end of the tunnel just might NOT be a train coming towards you.
I think it comes from 32 years in the fire service putting others first. I really get a buzz a when helping people and I also love being creative (although I am not as clever as most) (I cant make money for instance.) lol
I actually know what sets me off (sadly its my wife) she lacks compasion more and more, for anyone outside family. This comes from her father and has got worse since her mom died. The news about my sons father in law has got worse and its a full blown stroke he has had. loss of speech and use of some limbs. SO having been through it with my wife I know what my sons inlaws and his wife will be going through. I know he has no choice but to help them in anyway he can. You would expect someone who has been through it for 22 years to appreciate what its going to be like. But she hates sons mother in law sadly.
So as my kid comes first I am already unable to ignore thinking of ways of helping "him" People can in all good intentions tell me to look after myself but honestly its not that simple.
