the remote bluetooth turned up for the cleantec hoover , I got it because I've got nothing else other than the saw on the festool platform .
And today ,,,,, yes on a sunday

side fence / dust guard for ts55 and

a quick clamp for the festool rails ordered 6.30 yesterday evening from FFX ebay store ( not direct because I got an extra 15% of through evilbay )
the fence was delivered by Rm 9.30 this morning and the clamp 11 .10 once again by RM " on a sunday ! ) I did also order a pair of bessey ratchet F clamps as they were super cheap with the discount but they are coming tomorrow .

A hand push lawn mower that I've stripped down to form the basis of a hand-cranked garden waste shredder.

Already tested it and it chops up medium thickness foliage quite easily so the next task is to fit a hefty-ish flywheel and handle then build a wooden enclosure for it and some form of chute for the cuttings

Bullhead rail chairs, 1924 and 1936.

I acquired them from a huge pile of many hundreds in the rail yard at Eastleigh that were destined for the scrappy. I was looking for one made in 1932 (they all have the date of manufacture cast into them) for a birthday present for my Dad who was born in that year but couldn't find one so I settled for the two I have.

No idea what to do with them , might just give them a coat of paint and keep them to use as weights.

I was staggered that they were all for scrap.

Having seen the money that the Salvage Hunter muppet on telly charges for tat, I don't know why Network Rail didn't ship them all up to one of those God-awful tat shops at the top of the M3 and let the more money then sense brigade fill their boots .

I've got a couple bits of Festool stuff....really like their tools ....prices I don't like so much.

The vacuum and the sander I have are both really nice. I'd like the plunge saw but just couldn't justify the price (ended up with a Dewalt one)

I got the saw from FFX with the evilbay discount TSC55KEB (latest version ) + 2 x 5.2 BT batteries For £439 all I needed was a charger ,picked one up s/h . All the rest of my stuff is hitatchi/hikoki mix of 18v and multi volt which I've been very happy with ( was a makita fanboy before ) but no choice for a plunge saw yet. I have used festool stuff before and it's nice but as you say the price smarts a bit

I know a joiner who has tools from all the brand's, when he is doing high end precision stuff the Festool stuff comes out

They do some really nice stuff...I wanted their biscuit cutter (domino cutter)...it looks amazing but sadly the price was taking the biscuit. To be fair if I was going to use it every day I wouldn't think twice but for occasional use it was just too much money.

I was in the Netherlands a few months ago....walked round a corner and there was a Festool shop...I resisted the urge to go and look!

It certainly is at the higher end of the market, but as pigeon says if it's used everyday then it's probably worth it " horses for courses " i suppose I rarely use a biscuit jointer so a festool is out the way for me . I really wouldn't lots of different platforms just for ease of batts and chargers but I suppose if your charging premium rates for whatever sector your graft is its not a problem. Mind I do know some younger lads that struggle to get gear in the van for the tools they have I'm a bit old school still when I started you still had to do stuff by hand , I can still cut a straight line with a hand saw and use a block plane yankee's were the order of the and cordless was OHHH got a get me one of them.
