I am a Lidl fanboy but they seem to have lots of empty shelves of late, light on tinned goods, no dog food for 3 weeks so i traveled the extra mile and went to Aldi, no probs, all shelves fully stocked, i spose it pays to shop around

I tried an air fryer. Couldn't see the appeal. Oven chips are also rather unpleasant.

The only thing my fryer gets used for is turning Maris pipers in to nice crisp fluffy chips two or three times a month.

That's when the bloody supermarkets aren't shoving generic whites in a bag and labeling them pipers.

We do oven chips, and liké them.

Wouldn't imagine a deep fat fryer.

English ones are inedible. It drives me mad trying to find ordinary frozen chips for frying in the rows and rows of oven chips!

Never had a deep fat fryer, and would never have one.

rapeseed oil for me, I used to use olive oil but had the issue that in winter it used to solidify in the bottle as it was cold in my house.....rapeseed doesnt have this problem and is supposed to be better for you.

Don't see the point in them, I deep fry all the time in a pan on the hob. Not chips mind, there's much better things to do with a potato than make chips.

Same with air fryers and rice cookers (And numerous other gadgets), they're not worth giving up the worktop space.
