Help lorry tyre valves

Which way around are they supposed to go? Flange inwards or outwards?
Won't fit inwards. Outwards would need a rubber washer I assume? Didn't come with any. O ring on inner face only.

It won't quite fit rim a tad too thin. Could easily skim on a lathe but most tyre fitters don't have lathes.

Could be excess paint stopping it will try reaming out the holes.

As the right hand one. Are the ones you have for agricultural wheels as I’ve not seen two piece valves for commercial vehicles

Mine are 11 to 12mm.

The one on the right is the correct way around. Not sure about using them on a lorry. Would normally use a pul through type.

make sure they're long enough, or you can't reach them with an inflator if they're on the back (presuming twin wheeler)

Could you privide a link as I've never seen a pull through valve in a lorry wheel as most won't be rated for the pressure in the lorry tyre 90psi-6bar or higher

However you'll often find the nut won't make full contact with the rim.
As long as the inside flange/seal is flat against the rim, the nut making perfect contact doesn't make that much difference.

However those look a bit too short for HGV valves.

I think if its on a steel rim it would be fitted as per left hand pic, if its an alloy rim its fitted as per right hand pic

We have approx 1600 hgv wheels on site not seen any rubber valves yet, but as its tructyre you never know

It is I suppose really an agricultural wheel. For the trailer I am building.
Tyres will be 245/70 R17.5
It is a single axle 3500kg trailer. No wonder people like Ivor Williams go for twin or triple axle - the tyres are far cheaper!

Mate of mine has some good contacts. Place he gets all his lorry tyres from has found me 3 part worns for £30 each

I've got a very good Bridgestone that's out of date for the steer axle you can have for nothing if you want it.
