I don't need to prove you wrong, don't quote aftermarket parts suppliers. Have a look in the genuine BL/Rover Parts catalogue, the taper was never changed until the introduction of the rover metro.
Look at all the people fit the whole hub assembly to the mini, from later mk2 A Series engined metros and they fit the mini hubs perfectly. BTW The Mk2 came out in '86, I now of people who've fitted hubs from '89 Austin metros to mini's and they still fit. Just for your information all Mk2 metros where fitted with vented disk brakes from this point.
And yes I know fitting the metro hubs causes wayward handling in the mini, but thats not down the the ball joints not fitting the tapers on the top and bottom arms.
