What was the last thing you made on a Lathe or Mill?

Let's try something here... list the last item you made on a lathe or mill.

I'm just trying to get a feel for the kinds of things people make at home (or work) with their machines.

I mostly just make a mess but the old ML7 and I did something something useful last week, modified a standard m12 bolt to retain a jack handle. Lost it about a decade ago but only use the jack a couple of times a year, took that long to annoy me enough to do something about it.

Apart from all the bits I make for the machiunes and tools I renovate, last quick job was a little 7/16" BSB brass plug for someone on another forum.

Popped it in the post, never heard another peep from him.

bored out the gear sprocket that sits behind the handwheel to suit the 20mm shaft, and turned the centre hub for the handwheel last night before welding it up into a wheel.

I think it was a stepped brass bushing for the handlebar end mirror on my BSA Bantam bike. It provides a close fitting end cap with no play for what would be an otherwise sloppy fit. I used my lathe to turn it to the proper diameters and drill a tight hole for the caphead bolt to pass through, then use the mill to cut the slot for the expander to register in.

Last thing on the mill was to machine some flats on my cast linisher platen for the mounting bolts to sit squarely on. Previously they sat on the draft (draught?) angle and never did up tight.

Last thing on the lathe was cutting a slot in a pulley for the aforementioned linisher. It's getting a bit of a spruce up you see!

Welded a 24mm socket, to a short 1/2 inch extension bar.

Then turned down the bar to 12 mm, so it would go in a powerdrill.

We now have an alternator test bench in the works workshop.

Very handy, I'll get some photos tomorrow.

I made this over the last couple of days and got it attached to my cross slide.

I got rather ahead of myself and milled a groove in the extension before it was fitted. Hopefully I'll be able to pick the slot up and continue it into the cross slide. It needs to be about 1.5mm deeper anyway.
