Local faceache, someone was filling up in local Tesco . . as they filled up, the pole sign changed from 154.9 to 159.9 . . .On my way home this evening I saw that the price has jumped up 2p/l since this morning, now £1.65.

I’ve always wondered the same , that if they can only supply X number of green policies , do they stop or just keep conning people . I actually had to get her in charge to change the policy back to normal after she explained she took a green policy out .I think, if you added up the amount of renewables 'sold' by these idiotic companies claiming that all of your electrons are renewable, I suspect it would be about 500% of the share of available electric...
Agree completely. If we had all nuclear power like France we wouldn't be in this mess. I would even welcome electric cars.
Nobody ever considered energy security when they allowed us to become so reliant on gas![]()
Not sure: in Scotland we produce almost 100% of our electricity from renewables and the surplus goes to the UK grid - we will be hit by the same price hikesIf we had all nuclear power like France we wouldn't be in this mess. I would even welcome electric cars.

97.4% of electricity used in 2020 was renewable https://www.gov.scot/binaries/conte...cument/Scotland+Energy+Statistics+Q4+2020.pdfNot when the wind doesn't blow you don't![]()
But it's only £1:15.9 per litre
True, but how much in 2021? We know for a fact Scotland went several months without a scrap of wind.97.4% of electricity used in 2020 was renewable https://www.gov.scot/binaries/conte...cument/Scotland+Energy+Statistics+Q4+2020.pdf

This is the trouble,I think we all know that a few politicians and policy makers get very rich to award these contracts abroad, with foreign, party donors greasing the wheels. I'm not btw picking on any particular party.
You sell off your national assets and keep the population sweet with a few shares (that later devalue).
I have started a new role, due to a lot of things being at stage 3 I can't talk about most of what im working on.
However one project is public knowledge, a 50MW battery, the first stage of 600MW of grid storage. This is just the start as well
I agree a base of nuclear generation would shield us from gas price rises etc but there are far, far bigger things that need to be considered first, such as the clean up at the end of its life

It's all smoke and mirrors.97.4% of electricity used in 2020 was renewable https://www.gov.scot/binaries/conte...cument/Scotland+Energy+Statistics+Q4+2020.pdf
It's not that bad, wave, tidal and hydro make up about a 1/3 of Scotland s power generation. It's all smoke and mirrors.
Yes perhaps if you look at total output. Then divide it spread over a year.
In reality we can get several weeks at a time with barely any wind. Then Scotland would have been running off nuclear and mainly gas.
