Myself and my youngest fixed the lights on his Fordson Major. Got everything working but the fiddle fairies have been there before us, scotch locks are present. They’ll be there a few more days then they’ll be gone.

I've removed and started repairing one of the rear doors on my LDV Convoy today.
Bottom of the inner frame has rotted out, and the door skin is pulling away, s the bottom partof the door flaps about.
I've cut away the corroded part of the bottom door inner and ground the door skin back to clean metal.

I've plug welded the remaining frame and door skin back together, and plug-weld plated the bottom of the door skin with new plates with folded edges to strengthen the bottom of the door skin.

I just need to make and weld in a new bottom frame section to complete the metalwork repairs tomorrow.

Very happy with the performance of my Oxford MigMaker 180 today - its really been great to use & helped my inexperienced efforts no end - it's helping me improve.
I've also used my recently aquired air reciprocating saw - and that's proving to be a useful bit of kit too.

It's a 21yo LDV Convoy... so aesthetic qualities are arguably moot . Even new few people considered the Convoy a handsome vehicle... and the years mean the body on mine is looking a bit... tired.
On the back-burner is an idea to find a lo-cost way I can repaint the van myself in a darker colour (have a compressor and a cheap Clarke spray gun, but clueless about paint & painting) - so for now the focus us on structural solidity

Darker colours do show up the 'marks', dents, uneven panelling, more than white

Few little jobs yesterday.
Some for me, some for others who are in greater need.

It was rusty, seized and in need of TLC.

In bits.
But it was missing the upper and lower rings for the bearing race.

But in a spare bin was parts that were adapted to be able them to ber used.

In one of the many donnations was a tin of Gunk, With a Halfords price tag of £1:50, a bit old.
But it is a lot better than the modern stuff.

Painted in the grey paint I brought for another project.
Blinged up with gold leaf.

Why do these stoves always arrive with the important parts missing.

But I have spares.

But they have to the right type for the stove.
A bit of drillingand a bit of luck.

In use before being sent of the another place.

This lot was done by myself and others.
It will be sent in a job lot to those in need.
Why tools and stoves, not food etc.
Others can do food, tools will help them rebuild or build something better for them selfs.

Finally got round to installing a generator input socket and changeover switch to hopefully ensure that we NEVER have another power cut !

This Volt meter came my way the other week.
The damaged on the front is were the last owner had a sticker.

Some one has had a go at "fixing" this. by loosing the screws.

After a good sanding and a few coats of home made french polish the damaged is all but gone.

Tested and adjusted to give as good reading as I could get it.

Screws are on order and will be fitted when they arrive.

Well, I know I'll win no prizes for welding & fabrication - but for a first go at rebuilding a chunk of a van door (& it works and fits the door seal and back on the van) - I'll take that.
Now coated with high zinc paint - it ain't pretty but it'll do the other bits, & till I figure out what to do about the paint.
(I re-welded in the loose panel in the pic thats to press on the skin, which also means the inner door panel refits properly as well).

Not welding I'm afraid. In 2018. There was an art installation at the tower of London with lots of ceramic poppies in it. They were sold afterwards. I volunteer at a repair café. Two of them appeared both broken. One had all the pieces so I just glued that back together. The other one had bits missing. I had to rebuild them with Milliput. The photos are before I painted it. I had to colour match the red. It's close enough. I'll post the finished job when the paint is dry.

Not finished, but started fixing the Smart car of a Belgian friend - he hit a deer which messed up the front end a bit, just got the inner wing to fit now and reassemble.
