I put some effort into the search, because I also consider German manufacturers (or their imitators) to be the most likely suspects.
After the experience with the last identification, however, I did not want to shoot too fast this time with an assessment ....
Please tell me how the little button anvil is attached.
Is it threaded? If so, which precise thread?
The manufacturers can be trusted with any other trickiness including and besides metric standard thread according to DIN 68-1 - that could provide further information.

screw in anvil, bolt diameter is 6.7mm and thread pitch appears to be 1.25mm is the best fit
SAE thread pitch of 20 is close too, although as the bolt is only short i have only 4 full threads to compare
the clamp bolt doesnt appear metric at all, 8mm bolt however threads seem to be sae 18 threads per inch

The square slides are a bit crude and allow a lot of racking, as shown in this video I made.
Overall though I was delighted to restore this vice. It was in a lump of clay and sold as a garden ornament, it took months of soaking in old oil to free it and subsequent sandblasting to get it to paint.

Here's an interesting one, bit different to the other vices in this thread.
Came from a hospital originally, no idea what it's for but it's quite nice, quick release and self centering.
The jaws have racks which mesh with a plastic gear underneath, it's only tightened with a knob (As opposed to a T bar) so you can't overtighten it, I can't see the gear breaking.
The QR is clever, you pull the collar back and it levers a pair of opposed half nuts off of the screw.
In position you can see the cams behind the pivot point. You can also see the pivots are offset by half the thread pitch, that means the nuts are identical, they don't need to make a left and a right. The screw is stationary and bolted to the rear jaw, the nut (And knob) is held onto the front jaw with a stainless circlip.
On the underside there's a strange cleat thing, I assume it's some kind of quick dismount so the vice can be removed and go in an autoclave. I'm thinking about making some kind of ball base, like a GRS microblock. I'd also like to modify the jaws so they can close right down to nothing, right now they're probably good for 3/4" to 2" round, but not much else.

yes, I just checked my two old Parky ww mk 1 - the most relevant racking is horizontal angling - both the 9" and the very early 10.5in show about 3mm at the edge of the jaw at a typical opening of about 100mm - doesn't seem too bad to me (up/down racking a bit more)- what does a late rod-type Record 52/53 do?
i guess maximum opening will show the most with any kind of vice
i also have a late vice of this type with no name, seems to be a higher qual casting and machining - only 7in wide and short wheelbase, but has v little racking

Currently have 34 vice that I am supposed to be working on refurbs and sale, but how about this one for being unusual.
A Record 12 from their "Leader" series made from rolled steel plate - a really unusual vice with quick release too and 4 1/2" jaws.
It is so nice as it is I might just sell it unrefurbished. It does need a good degrease and clean though.
It still has the metal nameplate riveted to the body. The hot rolled steel plates are all welded together.
An interesting vice.
The clamping forces must be wicked - see photo 2 - the hardened steel jaws have been literally bent where an item like a rod was clamped between them.
To distort the jaws like that the vice must have created a massive clamping force - really huge.
Would also explain a very slight bend in the op bar.
Anyway - I'm showing my bench vice- where are yours!

Nice - anyone know history of Leader? - used by Record for their weld fab vices, but i have a small Leader cast iron Parky Handy style bench vice 'Leader' is cast in but no sign of any Record name.

I like that. I do like a chamfered corner slide on a vice - looks cool. Paramo were one firm that often did that, can't say i've heard of Matador ?
What do the big bolts on the side of it do ?

I have not forgotten your previous vise (btw: why do so many German vices swim to you all the time?).
I had to wait for a delivery that has arrived by now and I have found - with the help of diligent sources - a story that is really exciting.
I like to write it down properly .... and today was the big day to pick up an additional machine
and I have to report about that as well ...
... one comes to nothing with all the activity ...

re the thread of the anvil, i suspect it maybe whitworth, i got a slightly smaller whitworth screw from a record vice and seemed to be a smooth action, i dont have a whitworth thread gauge but im suspicious
i have researched the germans did use whitworth up until the early 1910s, even thought they were metric sometime 1850s
but i know its definitely not a 1mm thread width

My vice is a 112 and I got it by accident many years ago, it is one of the oldest (as in my possession the longest) tools I own, outside one of my hammers and a prybar I have I look around once in a while thinking I will get something "better". There quite simply isn't anything, not even close.
