I think your making a mistake doing stuff for free in your own time work , could be making a rod for your back so to speak . I seem to remember not so long ago you posted about not being treated very well , once you start this sort of thing they will expect it all the time be careful .So this Sunday I've actually done something
Repaired two angle grinders from work :an Hitachi G13SW and a Flex L811 ,both had cable fault and carbon brushes.
I believe I should ask money for them ,but you know I think it's better to be the tool guy in the shop so they have a reason more to keep me, even if I do those things in the weekend at home.
Then I've made a power cord for my mag drill ,I do like to do those things very nice and a simple thing takes little bit more time , anyway it's something for me so...

Here we are I've cut roughly 4.5 metres length of H05VV-F 3G1.5mm² cable (from the 20m extension cord bought yesterday)
Then I've striped 70mm of cable outer insulation , and striped the wires , exposing 10mm of copper strands and soldered them.
I've then applied two pieces of heat shrink tubing on the end of the cable
one overlapping the other for about 20mm to make it pretty, and both for about 8mm on the wires.

I've then finally put a IEC 309 230V 16A single phase CEE plug
The cable holding collet bites on the heat shrink tubing , and this last one will act as strain relief.
The other end of the cord will receive the same treatment once I'll have all the parts to complete the improvements on my cheap mag drill.
That's the same process I've used to make my welder power cord ,the only difference is that I've used 3 metres of H07RNF 3G2.5mm² for the welder instead ,same plug too.

This little friend landed on my head and stayed with me for a good amount of time
Agreed - never mind the liability issue for work related equipment being repaired by non-authorised/trained personnel . . . if anything goes wrong, guess who gets pointed out to the law . . .I think your making a mistake doing stuff for free in your own time work , could be making a rod for your back so to speak . I only ever see single shoes at the side of the road.I found a pair of shoes
I found a pair of shoes
I don’t know for sure but it looks a lot like the clamps they use in knock together shuttering. The metal stuff.A muddy mess,as it rained most of the day,but it didn’t stop me cutting into this bank to lay a soil pipe,to take surface water from the motorway barrier to the left,,I’ll fill in the void to the top of the kerbs,I bought two job lots,as you can see some are radiused,I need a 45 bend, then a few 3m lengths, then run it under the hedge.
I found a pair of shoes and this threaded hook thing, what is it?View attachment 332581View attachment 332582

Looking good, nice work
I use to have one last year, I must have lost in in the workshop somewhere I expectEvery lathe should have a chuck board close to hand to prevent damage to the ways when a heavy chuck is changed![]()
Fancy!I found a off cut of 18mm ply and it was a perfect width for this.
