3D print the blocks or will they not be strong enough ?

I've been working away in Caernarfon all week - so I've only just got to look at the Record Leader 24" Stilsons I bought before I left.
Happily it's a mint bit of kit. The jaws are sharp and in brilliant nick and its spot on. I'd never seen/heard of a "Record Leader" tbh, nor seen this design. Turns out there is a spring against either face of the adjustable jaw in the head - so the jaw doesn't rattle & flap about like regular Stilsons. A nice bit of solid kit for cheap Chinesium money.
(Also my Compressor Reciever has dried out nicely while I was gone, and the Phosphoric has treated some of/ worst of the rust
)

Don't have a 3d printer but even if I did I reckon there are at least a few reasons they would not be as good.
1. Strength/rigidity, I reckon Acetal will be a lot better than most common printed plastics
2. Friction, Acetal is low friction, I think most 3D printed materials would have more friction.
3. Time, it will take me under 1 minute to make one, I reckon 3D printing will take longer.

Oh and another, lots of plastics absorb water and swell, especially sea water. Acetal has a much lower absorption rate than most and is the reason it is used for marine applications such as pintle bushes etc.

Today I received this, from the 'Bay of everything. CLICKY
Why? Well....just because....
. Needs a good clean but the tubing etc seems in good order. I've got a Revell model car kit to build [got it as a gift] and I thought I'd make a better job with this than brush/aerosol or a bigger gun. 
And, it's another skill to learn.....

For some reason my scouts have deicided we are building a treb this year.... only a little ish one thoughToday I acquired the V5 for my new to me van (thread elsewhere) Checked it over, the maximum braked towing limit is 1200kg, That surprised me, as I thought it was only 800kg. Opens up more opportunities as we are supposed to be building a trebuchet this year
That's a fantastic pioneering exercise for them. No cheating, let them see how good their lashings are

Water melons make great ammo. Was down at Leeds Castle a few years back and they were firing them into the moat. Reckon the koi must have had a field day...those that weren't killed by direct hits...
We are going to bolts and timber, it's to get as many random badges done in a year as possible.... Then off to camp with it and some large foam water bombs....That's a fantastic pioneering exercise for them. No cheating, let them see how good their lashings are

A magnetic, hook, pocket LED torch , just because it's green little and pretty
A pair of cheap safety glasses for spare .
A 20 meters H05VV-F 2x1.5mm² extension cord which is sacrifial ,I'll use it to make power cords for some o my tools (it coated me less than a 4meter power cord + it's orange)
A plastic box with cap to collect dust ... ,Nope I'm joking , it's to store my PPE clean and in order.
