I has a really nice one back in the 80s. Dual height top of the range. I was broke so had to sell it
How do the new ones compare? Not the cheap ones but the top of the range? Are they still as solid?
So black and decker today IMHO are just rubbish, Stanley as well they're just good to make utility knives and tool boxes/chestI has a really nice one back in the 80s. Dual height top of the range. I was broke so had to sell it

Not just comparable. The yellow / black DeWalt tools were a direct re-badge of the Black and Decker pro range when they were struggling to sell the B&D tools, and someone realised they had bought the DeWalt brand some years previously with it’s solid reputation for old iron radial saws.DeWalt might be the most comparable to Black and Decker professional
Or my wifeNothing's as good as it was in the 80s fizzy - Just look at abba

Hi Memmeddu, I know somebody who used to work in a factory that makes tools. I was surprised when he told me the factory sometimes made DeWalt and Black & Decker tools at the same time. Until then I thought the different companies were competitors, I now know one parent company sometimes owns many brands of tools. Stanley and Irwin are also part of the Dewalt / Black & Decker group. So black and decker today IMHO are just rubbish, Stanley as well they're just good to make utility knives and tool boxes/chest
DeWalt might be the most comparable to Black and Decker professional/super star professional/star of the 80's
They are the same company today and they own facom and usag .
Have a jawhorse in the Van. Useful bit of kitI've got a Jawhorse and a Workmate, they both get used but for different kinds of jobs. Jawhorse is more versatile and I have a set of jaws for holding rough timber like tree sections and the jaws are reversible to clamp large sheet material and doors.
