That's what I will do, just gotta be careful as the tank bottom is also soldered, gonna put some sort of heat sync either side and a nice hot flame so as not to heat up the restWash the tank well with warm water and detergent.
Remove all parts not required.
Clean well, with a soft gas flame, flux and solder just sweet it back into place.

The heater coil willl not get it hot enough to turn it into a vapour.
It will not burn.
Don't be a fool and use petrol. That is very bad.
