What are you getting (or hoping to get) for Christmas

I just make pants. For my own use. Or chaps.

However the imaginatively named Orkney Leather make some fantastic stuff. I will pm you details @northwest

I get belts from the county show usually. There’s always someone there making them on the day. Normally thick whole grain leather. Best one I ever got was from Abergavenny cattle market (now a Morrisons) when I was 17. Lasted till mid 30’s everyday use

Its difficult to get a decent belt. I had a good few and they didn't last long, the buckle pulled through the leather. Bought a pair of braces and find them much better.

Best leather belts I've found in the UK are at a shop called "Celtic Leathers", located on Market Street in Pontypridd. Rather than plain, I buy the embossed belts 1 1/2" wide and punch the buckle holes to suit myself. The price with choice of buckle £12.oo

I still use the same buckle my Dad gave me fifty some years ago.

Belts from the Western or Farm Supply stores overseas are very good quality, and reasonably priced. Custom work though can command a hefty price.

£260 for a belt is hilarious. If they can persuade some people that it's worth that then fair play to them.
