What did you get for Christmas

Yup - particularly when it doesn't even go over the bar let alone onto the drive sprocket. Parents asked what I wanted for Christmas and a bigger chainsaw capable of driving longer bars for the bigger stuff was what I wanted. Was supposed to have been delivered with an 18" bar and chain but they've obviously put the wrong bar in, doesn't matter for me - the longer the better. The little electric Husky I have is great for most of the stuff I need to do - this one was for the bigger stuff that comes down (recent storm brought down a 2ft ash branch onto the neighbours fence) and the cold temps and wet wood meant the little batteries struggled.

I've emailed them - would prefer keeping the 20" bar so I'll pick up a new chain anyway for it. Was going to get a 28 or possibly bigger bar for it. Just garden maintenance really but I do have some silly big trees in the garden and also at my parents farm.

Apart from the odd 660
We rarely have anything bigger than 24in but mostly 20in even on 70cc saws.
The 660 only gets used once in a blue moon

You need as small as possible, big as necessary. Without being silly about it. There’s a recommended size range for each power unit. That’s more for balance though.

Not so much felling but just bucking the logs etc., not in a rush cutting through things just prefer going through in one hit.

Recommended for this (if I recall, can't be bothered to look it up again) is 18-28" (562 XP). Part of the reason is I might also build / borrow a chainsaw mill for some of the bigger logs.

We've had a sycamore down on the farm that's 4ft in diameter that's got a lovely straight trunk for 20ish feet for example.

For 90% of the stuff my little 120i is more than adequate. Just wanted / needed something at the other end of the extreme. Go big or go home

Months of scouring Eblag. My favourite was one on for £120 or offers so I offered him £90, he turned it down as "they always sell for £100+" it didn't sell so he put it back on with an £80 starting price and that's what it sold for

Damaged one of the lathe tools screws with a hex screw in it rather than a torx.

Then ruined a brand new stainless screw from accu, which I would call high quality.

I think for a 562 to run a 28inch would require a skip tooth chain and be soft wood only.
Lovely saw and perfectly capable of dealing with thoose logs but quicker to run an 18in bar and do 2 cuts than do 1 with a bigger bar.
Would always rather do it that way. Big bars are a pain. And wobbly and not very accurate.

Been well impressed with the Wera Hex Plus set I bought recently. They grip on the sides rather than the corners. Last day I was fitting hand guards to the bike and the bleeding screws were Torx. Don't have any Torx at home so thought I would have to go back to the workshop but tried the Wera and they worked great even for the Torx.
Going to get another set for the workshop

BTW it was normal end ones I got, ball end are not the best in a lot of situations.

So you have a problem with them? I have been delighted with them, even removed a rounded button head the last day with no effort.

Yes they're rounding off the hex for me time to time. I now need to source a new screw for one of the korloy lathe tools. It's a lever type tool so no doubt will have some funky screw.

Strange, I found the opposite, rounded a few with using the impact screwdriver, keep kicking myself for using that for tight screws came out easily with the Wera Hex Plus.
Regarding the Korloy, if it is the P Lever type then yes, not a normal screw but you can easily get spares, just a bit pricy. I have made a few up for obsolete tools, just used a set screw and turned it to suit, only thing is you don't have the hex on either end.
