local dealer has just swapped out eight of them once due to the hp pump not pumping and the brain not shutting things off second set they thought the pump was faulty and sapped it out too then it turns out it was the ecu not delivering the right info , either way the new injectors arrive pre primed but if they dont get the new fuel supply in the two or three seconds the new injectors turn them selves into old injectors , ,,, granted its an older machine ,, about three months old now . I cant write the rest on an open forum but Ill be sticking with older stuff for the foreseeable future.Thats not how it works with modern engines, you can't actually 'run out' of fuel, the engine management forces a misfire as a warning then shuts off the injectors, keeping the HP fuel pump 'wet' and therefore lubricated. A misfuel (petrol into a diesel) will cause damage to the HP pump and injectors, but not running critically low on the right fuel.
