But look at it another way please. When I was working, Trucks from all over Europe came in. For the OEM's they had time slots and a specific time to be loaded in, And limited bays. Quite often you would get the truckers turning up either, early, sometimes the day before, Thus rendering one bay unusable, or two turning up at the same time. The FLT drivers than get moaned at that they aren't doing their jobs.

All joking apart, I think it is quite the undertaking, this nuclear project at Hinkley Point C. I have worked with Sarens before, and I have a liking for big cranes. I have seen quite a few in my time in Offshore Oil and Gas.
I understand we will soon be seeing some progress on Sizewell C in Suffolk. And this Rolls Royce modular reactor thing is going to be interesting too.
As I see it there is no way we can meet the target of net zero emissions by 2050 without Nuclear Power. I was watching a very interesting interview conducted back in the early 2000's with Victor Bryukhanov. Perhaps not the best person to be asking about Nuclear Power, you might think, as he was the head of the Chernobyl "Atomnaya Elektrostantsiya" in 1986, when block 4 exploded. That said, as a Nuclear Engineer, he remained committed to the idea of Nuclear Power. He stated that for him, the worst thing to have come out of Chernobyl, aside from the deaths of the individuals involved, and worse than his imprisonment, is the loss of faith in Nuclear Power that it caused.

Definitely.
Even with Chernobyl nuclear power has caused far less deaths than coal.
And more to the point it provides lots of good quality engineering jobs in the UK.
Loads of well paid jobs for welders which is what this site is all about after all

Most of the ex residents of Pripyat would now probably disagree! However, what is not generally known is that after Chernobyl exploded, reactor blocks 1, 2 and 3 kept operating, after heavy modifications to ensure the safety of the RBMK design. They also became leaders in the field of Nuclear safety, particularly in the area of refuelling.
The Soviet Union had some good reactor designs, in particular one called a VVER (Vodo Vodyanoi Energetischky Reactor or water cooled, water moderated power reactor), of which several are operating around the world and which show great promise for future use.
