Just a side to side weave most of the time but just watch the pool to see how it is filling and move accordingly.
Yes, just trying to cool the slag down so it will chip off, normally I don't bother as I usually have another weld nearby on the go so by the time I have put a rod into one the other is cool and the slag usually drops off.
Rods are 316, trailer is 304.

Not at all.
He used to leave the pot on top of his locker, in plane view.
Simple as that, it was even his deep heat cream.

Is that cutting freehand or on a CNC machine . I bet you could do at least 10 mean sets of Santa and 7 reindeers just in time for crimbo crap & auction sites at £50 or more each .

I was in the bath after a hard 10 mile cross country race in Cumbria .. ached all over .
Set a bottle of Sloans liniment on back edge of the bath by the taps , top off ready to rub my quads & calves , Had a good 10 min or so hot soak & got up out the bath , decided it was too cold ( snow on the ground outside ) as there was very little effective heating in the barrack room spider huts especially in the ablutions area , so I sat back in the water reached forward to turn the hot tap on and have a bit longer warming up and easing the muscles off .
Yep ...you guessed it the bottle got knocked in to the bath as I turned the hot tap off , cursing softly I leant forward to find it when this golden circle appeared in the water .. Oh well I thought . A second later the circle had become a bike wheel size and started to burn like hell .
Had an idea ... Filling the bath with more hot and cold water I tried to send it out down the over flow .. over flow was blocked ......... BSTD !
Things were really burning at the tide mark .. I realised I'd have to do something ...one quick crazy dash out the bath cubicle to the row of washbasins & get as much warm soothing water on the family jewels as possible .
I got some funny looks from a few guys who'd also finished their Wednesday afternoons sports session & come in for a shower . They pee'd themselves laughing when I told them what was happening.. I got nicknamed the Sloan Ranger for the rest of my 3 yr apprenticeship .

If I stood my sharpened tungsten's up like that I guarantee I'd push one down the back of my nail at sometime or other . I just have mine laid flat in a plastic case

Thanks for the links! I’ve never been bothered to hack one of my spare PSU’s but this makes it soo easy I might actually be able to use them for somethingThat was a bit if a hacked mess.
The simple method (which I'll use for my third attempt!) Is buy one of these.
And one of these.
(Make sure you get one with a built in current shunt.)

Going off subject how do keep the discs from falling off, mine won't stay on (same sander)
I've always cringed when I see sharp things standing up ever since I poked an eye out with a mapping pen aged 5 !
Pens and pencils in jacket outside breast pockets is a pet hate.
Wander in many factories, and pens, rules, etc in breast pockets where they could fall out and contaminate production is a no-no anyway.
Warned once, and kicked out second . . . "but it's only a pencil. . ." - which causes the customer to send an entire artic trailer of product back, meaning you have to check each and every item . . .
I just made sure the plate was spotless, It was greasy when it came. Cleaned with thinners then meths until the cloth was spotless after rubbing. No problems as yet!
