Seemed to be quite normal in Milton Keynes today. Every garage I passed had fuel. Busyish but no queues

My local Shell yesterday had my preferred V-Power, which it hasn't for well over a week! Nothing else mind, just V-Power and not all pumps working. For most of the week (or is it more?) all the pumps have been shut when I've been past.
Unfortunately I filled up elsewhere with the E10 crap this weekend just gone...

It's a commonsense thing really The independents were/ are being given priority in the refilling stakes .. as folk will still shop at the suermarkets so they won't go bust, but if the independents can't get fuel it's likely many of them will go bust .

Such is life ..My local garage has petrol listed at 111p on the Petrol Prices site. Unfortunately my car is in pieces
syphon it off your neighbours cars in to jerry cans then pay them for the topping up to the same volume.

I went to a local fuel station on my way to collect a few 'parts',
The first 'top up' since the 13th September
Where are all these queues you have been 'shouting off' about, doom and gloom and all that, the end of the world
It has 'gone up' a penny a litre though
I've now resorted to filling 25 litre's, rather than my usual £30.
All I can say is, all the panic buyers have filled up now, and are sat at home waiting to use it

The panic buying was short lived
The people who genuinely needed fuel paid the price and had no choice but to queue
Couple that with garages letting there tanks run low ready for the e10 rollout and things got dire quickly.
I don't think anyone would let tanks run empty for E10 - E5 still complies with E10 notices, so they would just stick it in the same tank at the usual refill delivery time - no need to run empty.
But agree that the poor sods who need to refuel regularly were massively inconvenienced by idiots - I didn't have much, but also didn't need to go anywhere, so felt no need to spend ours driving around the local forecourts adding to the misery.

Good point, and thinking about it he would not have had a car in the '40's, he was 14 at the end of WW11, just before he left school to work as a porter and eventually road driver for BR at the village station. I think he had various motor bikes before finally getting a pre war Ford sometime in the 1950's.
He would talk the hind leg off a donkey if anyone mentioned vacuum operated wipers or rod brakes.

We ordered 1200 liters of heating oil 2 weeks ago and it's still not been delivered! We paid 46p ish a litre, mmm I wonder what's happening here?
I bet they're holding out to make us cancel the oil so they can sell it at the higher price!
I'll name and shame if they **** me about much longer.
