It's nice now, just not one for feeling the cold yet, I'm looking to put one in the workshop now I thinkDepends on type of wood and how much you have it turned up. Lovely on a cold evening or any day in winter
5kw morso, considering the Mrs is cold below 20c
Not sure, the bloke left it in the house when we moved in, it's a good one, our local shop does these pressed chipping blocksI do a tonne of logs in mine over winter but burn smokeless coal as well, does yours do coal ?
It's just ridiculous, and I feel for you, I work in water so I'm impervious to cold, and have some 'insulation fat lining' on purpose, but she's there with a blanket as wellYou should be grateful. My 'indoors believes that 24 is tolerable, 26 comfortable. I had to tell her to put a sweatshirt on earlier, she was walking about in a tee shirt complaining of being cold. Her winter heating regime, left to her own devices is to whack the thermostat up to 26, set all TRVs to max and then when it is too hot, open the doors and windows.
I jest not.
It's been in the house a while, it's just we haven't and this is the first time lighting it, cheersis it new or newly installed
as they stink like hell if you are getting a smell it needs firing and windows open
i had to do a full fire on a new one 3 times and a shallow fire outside they stink that bad
It was more of a joke to be honest, reference my Mrs vs me with heat, thanks for the info thoughpaint curing and/or humidity can cause fumes irritation of the eyes
but they have a smell on them or not fully cured stoves go outside get some fresh air go back in and see if theres a smell in there
you need enough time to clear the smell from your nose
Put a cheap rug in front of the hearth it's surprising how far hot bits can fall when opening the door.Mrs has made/ forced me to put our log burner on for the first time in the new gaff, never had one before, my eyeballs are on fire...
How many tons per year should I expect to be putting through this thing, 5kw morso, considering the Mrs is cold below 20°c...

See my other posts regards my heat tolerance, I'll stick with logsCoal is a lot hotter and lasts for longer
sorry but if you think its a joke i dontIt was more of a joke to be honest, reference my Mrs vs me with heat, thanks for the info though
Not a bad idea thanks, not much has come out as it has a good seal on the door, do you guys just leave the vents open for the most partPut a cheap rug in front of the hearth it's surprising how far hot bits can fall when opening the door

This is a hetas installed fire, it was a reference to my heat indifference vs the Mrs, plenty more things to get wound up about than this, I understand the issues with carbon monoxide and fumes. Move onsorry but if you think its a joke i dont
ive seen enough people come out of fume filled places either dead or suffering badly
eyes are one of the symtons of carbon monoxide poisoning
its no joke in my eyes
