You open the front vents and airwash control when establishing the fire, then close the vents once properly lit. Control the heat output with the top control, but if you turn it down too far, it will blacken the glass due to no airwash.Not a bad idea thanks, not much has come out as it has a good seal on the door, do you guys just leave the vents open for the most part
