We’re putting a bath with shower in ours (shower only at present) as we’re relatively young and may start a family at some point. I didn’t particularly want a bath to be honest, my argument was that a baby would fit in the sink but I know which battles to fight!
(I wasn’t entirely serious about the sink incidentally, although it’s maybe not a bad idea!).
I think I’d build it with a wet room and do the layout so you had option for a bath. Even a free standing one. There's a lot of posts about what individuals prefer, but I think that's kind of missing the point.
Selling a house with no bath will cut off a significant percentage of interested people, for valid or not so valid reasons. So if I was renovating a house I'd definitely try very hard to find space for a bath.
fine provided its not a concrete floor or u have access under the floorboards for the trap and drainI used to fit lots of low step showers, take bath out and fit a tray that is 1" or so above floor level
I am lucky the house I am in has 4 bathrooms- just for 2 of us.Bath is great when cold & damp as @8ob says, can have a nice coffee, sandwich, good book, turning the hot tap on with toe is a thing that comes with practice.
We have 1 shower, toilet, basin on suite, 1 downstairs sort of utility shower, toilet & basin, + 1 family bathroom. All showers pumped.
Thought of selling a while ago the agent said for young family bath a must

That sums it up I think. Bearable.hard call... a nice shower room is a big plus, but for a young family (in this country at least) a bath seems important..... Much as I hate shower over bath, use a good "shower bath" and a decent screen they are bearable
regrettably trueThat sums it up I think. Bearable.
A proper walk in shower is so much nicer and safer.
Best bet as people say is to ask the local estate agents.
I don't plan on living there - just want to do the place up nicely.
You can guarantee the housing market will collapse as soon as it is ready![]()
