Today I acquired this liquor shelf.

Had an email today from UPS, £84 in total to pay, better than I was expecting, brings the total cost to £490
I acquired my new and shiny sewing machine today. Got the email confirming todays delivery this morning, so dismantled the old one, and moved it out if the house. Due to a last minute realisation it was never going to hit the right angle to get in the conservstory door, and with an hour to spare, I emptied the bookcases in the hall, moved them out the way, and waited.
Machine arrived, and I unwrapped it, then took 20 mimutes to ‘balance‘ it off the pallet (castors had fallen between the planks). Then up 2 steps into the hall, through the livingroom, then down one really dodgy step into the conservatory.
After a wee break to recover, I oiled the machine, checked over, then fired it up.
I am now a happy bunny, and can start catching up with my orders in the morning.
Forgot to say, it came with its own toolkit, 2 spanners, two fairly hefty screwdrivers, and a allen key set with those little ball ends .

At the price of it, I’d expect a small team of ‘pedal pushing‘ elves to form an orderly line around the machine. Each replacing the one in front, as they slump over the pedal, exhausted from treadling away.Silly man.
Two pedals, it is an automatic.![]()

It’s actual powered by a very decent servo motor, which runs through a reduction pulley box. This allows it to run silly slow (1 stitch every 6 months), with a top speed of approximately 800 stitches per minute. My sister would love that. She makes webbing collars for Greyhounds and similar dogs....At the price of it, I’d expect a small team of ‘pedal pushing‘ elves to form an orderly line around the machine. Sorry, I forgot for a moment where I was posting. It’s actual powered by a very decent servo motor, which runs through a reduction pulley box. This allows it to run silly slow (1 stitch every 6 months), with a top speed of approximately 800 stitches per minute.
The needles are the 794 sewing needle system, with a needle size range of 160 to 250. That translated from big, to “hell’s teeth, that’s really big”! All without having to fettle greatly with the tension, or adjust the timing to suit.
Maximum leather thickness is almost 16mm, and it also stitches through four layers of heavy webbing with ease. I’m still to play with stitching thinner leathers, so if all goes well, I may be selling my other walking foot machine, and possibly my Tippman Boss, just to make some room.

I cheated, I downloaded a manual for it before I bought it, AND read it too.Yes, but.
How long did you play with it before you read the instructions?
