I moved into my new house a few weeks ago ande got stuck into some work on Monday this week.
I planned to knock through the downstairs bathroom and kitchen into one (I've never done anything like this before but that won't stop me).
Bathroom is too big.
Through the wall is the dining room.
Day 1
Stripping off the panelling.
Then the plasterboard.
Cutting through from the other side.
First section out.
Day 2
Got the rest of the wall out.
Day 3
Sink, WC, shower and tiles out.
The plan is to have something like this.
Since the cornice is a bit damaged and tatty in the old bathroom area and to help with the new lighting I decided to lower the ceiling. Initially I thought about fitting a wood frame but just saw a metal frame system from gyproc on youtube. It seems like there a few versions available.
Does anyone have experience of these and can make a reccomendation on the best system?
