Stolen Capri B54 ODX

Stolen from a lads locked garage on another forum in broad daylight on 10th September at approx 09.48hrs. If anyone has any info it'd be appreciated.

Black, X-pack Capri, Nissan engine fitted.

Towed away by a Renault Traffic

I hope they find the vehicle as whoever has had it stolen must be quite upset.
my post was meant to be serious, but would the vehicle not be more valuable with the original engine ?

A bit more info. It was taken from Hall Crescent, Aveley, South Ockendon. There is ring doorbell and other footage but so far I believe the van plate isn't clear. They draped a car cover over the Capri.

There is an FB page ref the theft including a clear CCTV video though wrong angle for the plate it seems.

As to the value etc. Yes it's a special one off done to the owner's taste but whatever it represents 10 years of his life aside from the blood, sweat and tears that went into it. Along with of course the cost. To boot he wasn't insured.

I know, with hindsight he should have had his own CCTV, garage alarm, tracker and so on. It was taken from his locked garage from an off road, gated alley behind his house.

As aforementioned, if anyone thinks they might of seen anything, has any dash cam or CCTV footage etc.

What is the market for these when stolen? This is a fairly rare car and noticeable for sure. Parts aren't hard to come by either as a lot of good aftermarket parts are available at good prices - its worth much more as it is than sold off as parts which to my mind decreases its value to the thieves. Just curious really. I do feel for the owner though - this must be heart breaking.

Can the police cameras not pick this up? Or are they not bothered, given the nature of the likely culptrits?

I'd disagree. Aftermarket stuff is available but not cheap and for the price often you'd expect a better fit.

@SierraV6 , did all those panels you bought drop straight in? Paid a premium because of who they're from I bet.

There’s some scumbags about. Up here we’ve had a spate of quads and trailers being nicked. They got the quad thieves the second time they came. One trailer was nicked a month / six weeks ago another went last Monday. Nobody saw anything. I think they get towed away then put into the back of a lorry, I’ll bet that Capri hasn’t gone far behind that van

As long as something rolls freely it’s not that hard to move it in neutral as we all know.

There are always quads getting nicked in the highlands wife follows the police page so we see a lot.
