Just bought this from blagbay for not a lot of money...1000W needs a battery. Ideal for pulling out the back of van for a bit of sniffing about at the weekends now the motorcycling season is coming to an end (don't do dark and damp on my bikes)...Anyway lets talk electric bikes guys as this once kitted out will be my 1st one Who has one or has had one in the past?

I'm reasonably certain that a 1000w motor is NOT road legal, however?

I'll sell you a Jawa Babetta rolling chassis (can be ridden like a push bike) that has never been on the road - snapped conrod at 1.7km. It owes me £25 so I'd accept that to start the tidy up of my lock-up

This is true...but a 250W aint going to drag my fat arss about Wife has a Pendleton Dutch style bike so i will get her a 250W assist kit for hers and keep her legal

Needs to be a trials frame unfortunately. I'd snap that at the first rock.

Don't think the old bill are too bothered about electric bikes and if they're over powered, they seem to be focussing on the electric scooters and confiscating those. No doubt having a load of fun on them down the nick car park

Luckily just bruised body and ego

Nearly taken a few out pulling out of drives myself.

Don't expect someone to shoot past on pavement at 30 odd mph

There should be a speed limit for riding on paths, say the speed of a jogger, or else ride on the road. I don't think bikes should be banned from paths but people should use some sense. New edition to the highway code maybe, the pathway code!

Anyway, I am keen to build an electric assist bike. Seems like an interesting project. Shopper 20 size for commuting and storing easy where its small.
