Made this work again after it broke down two years ago on the way to Bert's (of tea hut fame) funeral, he rode one in Egypt so I was a bit upset when the magneto failed, fitted a pair of H cams while it was in bits and lined the tank against ethanol as it was rusting, 1941 Matchless G3L bought in Latvia 24 years ago, ex Russian army, used by a village blacksmith after the war, was fitted with a Russian magneto, piston and carb when found.

Reminds me of the Rock art trail the village started to show support for the NHS here in Wales during the pandemic last year. Contributions by young and old expressing their thoughts and good will on stones and bricks, lined the canyon walk for hundreds of yards. Epic, although on a small scale.

Today. I am making a pair of rear light hangers for my lorry. The original ones are made of crap as usual.

Longer bolts for the mower handle. Once bitten...



I've done them with a 10mm shoulder, where they're passing through the lower handle, rather than having them just a 8mm thread all way along, as are the originals.

This roof racks been on order since March,so the customer and a friend are down and camping in our field so as I can do the alignment and rest of the fabrication,next week I can line half off it with weld mesh to make a tray along the passenger side.

I reckon your still going to loose them, is the handle the type where you just slacken them off and the handle folds over? if so have you got enough thread to peen the end over slightly?
I dont need to fold mine but got so fed up with everything coming loose I changed all the nuts for nylocs

More a case of battle with the handle to fold it over. I need to fold it because I'm storing it on end. It'd be too tall for the space if I didn't.

Hopefully, brass on brass should stop things working loose. I'll address it later if there is a problem.

Plus, this is a battery mower, so there's not the same level of vibration to contend with as there is with a petrol mower.

A model of a model; scaled down by half so i can check my CAD is right and practice assembly before committing to the ’big’ one using the sheets in the background. So far so good, picked up a couple of errors on my part so that’s made it worthwhile. It also gives me something to reference for possibly changing the front to make it a defender, we’ll see.

Thats how my neighbour built the fence between us, although not as bad - only a 5mm at most protruding - managed to miss them for a few years, but they finally caught my car . . . they got attacked with an angle grinder very soon after . . .

pallets + 2nd hand scaff boards.

Have you *seen* the price of decent timber at the moment?
- cheapest 2nd hand scaff boards are 1.50 a foot round here

just the (rough as anything) ply sheets, and roof beams, cost the best part of £400!!!

(pallets were free, except for diesel)
