I have a little problem with some fasteners:

the ideal screw for me is a button head socket drive. looks tidy and doesn't catch your fingers when working near them , but HSE would prefer that we don't have holes etc where material could gather.

So in reality i can see only 2 options: hex head or 12 point spline.. which i think might be tall enough to become an issue but until i try one i wont know.

The question is.... any suggestions? basically i want a low head with no hole and radiused profile... might ne grasping at straws i know.

Slotted button head machine screws might be OK, but they tend to have a larger head diameter

What about plastic caps that plug the hex hole or cover the whole head ?

E Torx I think just stands for external torx

Anti tamper bolts where the head snaps off and leaves a dome?

Nobody is getting into it easily again though .

Can you flip the design and have a thread sticking out and use an Acorn nut / domed nut on the exposed thread?

Probably a hygeine/food grade type deal with no small hard to clean places.
