Ive used the bitumen emulsion before it works fine the last one i made was water tight but mega unstable it made for some great footage of me upside down in the riverBest of luck, I used pitch back in the late 80's.
Yes it worked, but "liberated" tar from road works was better.

Yeah i've heard that's an active area for coracle activities...........Not much here in Northumberland howeverLovely! I went to watch coracle racing at Ironbridge some years back, after it was over they all sailed off down river using umbrellas as sails, a wonderful sight!
