You know do realise it IS that easy BUT in reality it's just not working out the way I expect.

Can I add a sketch to the pre created polo?

I am persevering because I feel once I know how to use a NEW sketch to alter an existing model life will become so much easier.

You can sketch on any plane/face but it really is easier starting from scratch

Very close but no cigar. still having trouble selecting the 79.3 sketch line. I can see the dimensions but not use it to extrude..arrggg

I kind of visualized the circles and holes as Daedalusminos said ..that's pleased me.


Now I have either a brain fart problem ,or either Fusion 360 freebie or Cura are playing up.. I still have two free projects to play with so it's not because of reaching capacity . Fusion is due an upgrade Saturday ..

Yesterday I successfully got three STL files off fusion drawings into a folder then from the folder into Cura & printed two off. On the last file it would not print past the 20th or so layer & my printer stopped printing .
I re-drew the faulty non print put it in a clean memory card & it printed off.

Did a coupe of new drawings this morning .. can't get the files up as useable STL files in what I think was exactly as I did it yesterday & it does not work

Right now my head is like a blocked drain .. nothing is getting out.

Could somebody far cleverer , intelligent & good looking than me do simple idiot proof drop down actions list for me along the lines of :-

I.
Draw & Save the design
2.
go to top line of the menu where you see the drawing

3. Right click the circle..... a drop down appears ... showing ....
4. etc. etc etc.

what we really need is a fusion 360 user with more spare time than they know what to do with creating it and recording the process...I am 99% there but just cant select the sketch to extrude it using push pull.

You probably have a strange selection setting, but you can just turn the body off to get round it

OMG it all went haywire turning bodies off.

I managed to extrude one side but try as I might I cant do the other.

Extrude, select the surface of the lip, drag the extrude arrow out the opposite side, and change the operation from cut to join.

when I try that I just get specify fillet radius

Easiest option will be to create another sketch on the opposite face, and extrude that.

Use the magnifying glass feature at the bottom middle of the screen to make them big enough to allow you to do the individual settings .

Just relooked at the drawing I was having problems with earlier on tonight . Having turned the computer off ,I had a cuppa & watched a bit of TV , on waking up the computer I'm notified , " The 10 drawing allowance has been used up " . Hhhhmmmmm !

So I deleted every drawing but the last one in the folder .. suddenly everything worked , the file is now on a memory card waiting for printing tomorrow. Hoping I've made the hinge accurately ( we'll see tomorrow ) so that if I turn one print 180 over it fits snugly into the first part to form a big complete flap hinge to secure the lids on my ten or so large bird boxes .

I have been trying . Finally gave up at 3 am and turned in to bed having failed. I cant see why one side I can create a sketch and it extrudes and yet I turn it over create another sketch and that just wont work. Its weird as it sounded
like Dapphs problem was the same as mine but its not..lol

Forgive me if I am stating what you already know but you can only extrude from the plane the sketch is created on. The second (rear) face will need a sketch created on the plane of the rear face then Cut that into the body by the required depth.

Can't you just sketch the profile and revolve around an axis like my pic?
Then add a thru hole and pattern it.
I gave up fusion a long time ago but this is how most would do it in other packages

To be honest that illustrates how little I know. But no I was not aware of that.
Which does confuse me more on how to create a sketch that contains everything. Lol
Anyway that aside I was told to turn it over and add a sketch. But I could not select it.
I made it smaller and I could select it and extrude it.

So it seemed it was hidden or combined.....but even holding down the mouse button to see all selectable options it's not there.

I’m not at my pc now.

If you can select the edge marked blue you should be able to extrude that to the right, beyond the back edge but make sure it’s set to join rather than cut.
